Kitty Potty Training is Simple

Getting a new kitty is thrilling. But you have to remember that you have to train it to use the litter box. However, toilet training is one of the easiest things to teach your cat. Why is it so easy? Well, cats naturally do their business in loose soil or sand. When they’re done, they use their paws to cover up the waste. This is so they don’t leave their scent behind. As well as helping to keep predators away, this also means that their prey won’t be warned of the cat’s presence. Because cats are meat eaters, they must hunt their food when they’re in the wild. So they cover up their waste in order to keep from frightening off their next meal. This is fortunate for cat owners who are concerned about kitty potty training.

The truth is that kitty potty training is as simple as placing your kitty in the litter box. Really, that’s all there is to it. When your kitty realizes where its litter box is located, it will return to that location every time to eliminate. This is much simpler than attempting to train a dog or other creatures. It makes cats one of the simplest pets to train.

A cat’s nature is what makes kitty potty training so straightforward. The cat’s natural tendency is to go in soil or sand, so a litter box reproduces the same circumstances in your house. Your kitty would prefer to go in its box rather than on your carpet or furniture. That’s what makes them so different from dogs.

But if your cat doesn’t appear to like using the litter box and your kitty potty training isn’t progressing as well as you would like it to, there could be something the matter. Your kitty might not want to use its box and might not react to your kitty potty training for a few reasons. Firstly, the box might not be large enough. Secondly, the brand of litter you’ve purchased might be overly scented. And thirdly, the box could be located in a noisy location that frightens your cat.

Some cat owners have been successful at kitty toilet training. They actually train their cat to use the toilet, not just the litter box. This can be done, but takes a lot of effort. You don’t have to go to that amount of work to successfully manage cat toilet training. You only require a litter box and some litter. Place your cat in the box and you’re finished. Your kitty will continue to use the litter box from that time on.
